3 Tips for Applying to MWP

Sadly, there are currently no open positions, but we will post about it when there are!

Applications are open now to join our team Follow these tips to make your application stand out.

Tip 1: Lean Into Your Identity and Story

While we’re a professional organization specifically for Muslim women, we do not do any judgments here. That is not the community we are building. So we do not care how you practice what sect you are. Do you pray five times a day, do you fast? Whatever that is is between you and Allah (SWT).

Here, we care about you being empowered as an MWP. So we want to learn about what has brought you to this point and wanting to apply to be a part of the MWP team. Why do you want to make a difference in our community?

Lean into your story and be unapologetic about it. We love that.

Tip 2: Own Your Professional Journey

You may be applying for a role that is completely different to what you've done in your career. And that's totally fine.

We've taken so many incredible women who maybe want to learn about a new space, maybe someone who was in HR or operations who now wants to learn more about social media. You are not starting at zero here, so we want you to lean into your professional journey.

And if you're applying for a role that is different than what you do in your 9 to 5, figure out how you can identify parts of your 9 to 5 that you think will help prepare you to be successful in that particular role.

Tip 3: Let Your Passion for MWP Shine Through in Your Application

When you think about MWP, if you're just like, “it's an OK organization. I don't know if I really want to be a part of it,” Then this is not for you.

Every single person in our team loves the organization, and is so passionate about wanting to change the future and make it better for MWPs. So, really, really review your answers and ask yourself is my passion truly shining through in these answers.

And if they're not, then you got to go back and you got to make some edits.
