4 Charities Supporting Women in Need You Can Donate To

 

If donating to charity is one of your priorities this month, especially during these last 10 nights of Laylatul Qadr, here are four organizations you can consider supporting. Their main missions are to serve women in need across different areas of the world, with focuses on essentials from food to education. We’ve provided links below for you to donate to one of their many campaigns, but feel free to explore their pages for all the ways you can show your support.

1.Asiyah Women’s Center

Location served: NYC, NY

Asiyah Women’s Center is the first women’s emergency center in NYC to support Muslim and/or AMENSA and BIPOC population. Donations would go toward supporting women who are victims of domestic violence and/or homelessness, including care such as housing, food, healthcare, immigrant, asylum-seekers, and refugee services and job-readiness programs and employment assistance.

2. Zaman International 

Location served: South Michigan and Internationally

Zaman International serves women and children facing extreme poverty, with its principal mission being to support women out of crisis through essential care and vocational and entrepreneurship training toward sustainable employment. Donations to their different campaigns will go towards a range of resources, from food, clothing, and Eid gifts to sustainable workforce development programming.

3. Orphans in Need USA

Location served: Internationally

Orphans in Need USA focuses on delivering essential emergency care to widows and orphans in countries like Yemen, Palestine, and Afghanistan. Donations go toward emergency food packages and building homes for widows and orphans displaced due to war.

4. Heart to Grow 

 Location served: Nationally, U.S. 

 Heart to Grow focuses on supporting Muslim women survivors of gender-based violence and promoting reproductive justice. Donations to their Survivor Care Fund would go toward counseling, legal assistance, financial assistance, housing and life planning and more for Muslim women survivors.
