Muslim Women Professionals Calls for a Free Palestine and Condemns Israel’s Genocide

[Los Angeles, CA] (November 2, 2023) — We at Muslim Women Professionals (MWP) stand with Palestine indefinitely and condemn the senseless genocide of the Palestinian people by the Israeli occupation.

Since MWP’s founding, we have always stood with Palestine and Palestinians’ right to live freely on their land. We will continue to support this cause until Palestine is free from the river to the sea. 

As an organization whose sole focus is to empower, advocate for, and better the lives of Muslim women personally and professionally, we cannot stand by as our ummah (community) continues to face ongoing senseless violence conducted by a settler colonial apartheid and imperialist occupation for the past seven decades. 

As most of us are feeling helpless and powerless in light of the genocide committed by the Israeli occupation in Gaza, our team has been gathering resources to channel these emotions in a productive manner. 

From educational materials, to resources on how to speak up as a professional, we at MWP want to hold space for you to advocate for this cause while taking care of your well-being. Our team’s focus is to support and assist those seeking diverse ways to help our brothers and sisters in Occupied Palestine.

Learning about the Palestinian decades-long occupation, witnessing its violence, and speaking out against Israeli oppressors is emotionally and mentally taxing. It can make you vulnerable to pushback, targeted by biased propaganda, and subjected to Zionist harassment, attacks, and harm. 

If you’re new to this cause, it will definitely be overwhelming to speak up against oppression, injustice, genocide, and war crimes while remaing politically correct, fortifying yourself mentally and emotionally, and preparing for the highly likely backlash. 

For this reason, our team has been researching some educational, spiritual, advocacy, and donation resources to assist your contribution in all its stages. We hope these tools can make this process a little easier for you and we’ll continue to add more resources to adhere to our community’s needs, as we research further.
