Salaam lovely readers of MWP,

Eid-Al-Adha is right around the corner, oh how it creeps up on us every year right? I know Eid-ul-Fitr was very different this year and this Eid might be very different for some of us as well. However, it’s important that we celebrate these occasions because our religion encourages us to do so.

So, make more memories, make delicious foods, and don’t forget to dress up and feel good! The following list is compiled of ideas you can implement in your homes to make this Eid more memorable:

  1. Dress Up

I know some of us may be tempted to stay in our pajamas all day because we’re not out and about. However, it’s sunnah to dress up on Eid no matter what the circumstance!

You don’t have to wear anything too fancy, comfortable yet chic clothing is never a bad idea! Grab a pair of wide leg pants, pair it with a sleek printed blouse, a chiffon or modal hijab to match, all tied together with your favorite pair of flats.

If you want to do a little more than pants and a blouse, wear a flowy, comfortable dress (because let’s be honest, dresses are the most comfortable for feasts), and pair it with an elegant chiffon hijab. And don’t forget, Eid pictures are a must!

Dressing up pro-tip: Chiffon hijabs are a must for an effortlessly elegant look!

2. Secret Baqarah

This has always been a fun way to make gifts more interesting and enjoyable with your loved ones. Gather a group of people and randomly assign pairs, whoever they’re given they must purchase (or make!) a gift for. Just remember, don’t spill names until the day of Eid!

3. Enjoy a picnic

Find a nice park that isn’t crowded and go on a picnic with your family! Spend the morning cooking with them and then enjoy the fruits of your labor together in fresh air. Dress up, make jokes, wear an enormous sun hat, and enjoy your delicious food in the sun. Maybe even take a paint set to document this memory! Who knows? You might find some hidden talent.

4. Learn about the importance of this day

Eid-Al-Adha isn’t just about yummy food and cute pictures. It’s about sacrifice, dedication, and faith. Take this time to learn more about this blessed day and its history.

Whatever you choose to do on this special day, make it count. Now more than ever we should be counting our blessings and making the most of our time with our loved ones. Praying you all have a safe and blessed Eid.

EID MUBARAK!
